The following processes are some of the most important new developments of recent years:
Finish-broaching of hardened workpieces at high broaching speeds over 60 m/min, using special broaching tools with specially coated carbide broaching bushings.
Broaching helical internal profiles using helical broaching tools, with which the helical or screw-type relative motion of the tool cutting edges through the workpiece is CNC controlled.
Broaching without using coolant at high broaching speeds of 25 m/min with specially coated broaching tools.
